Brannan Fabrication Shop

Our fully equipped fabrication shop on the 1st floor at 601 Brannan St. offers woodworking, metalworking, and digital fabrication. Students have the opportunity to work hands-on to explore different materials and techniques.

The shop is staffed by highly qualified technicians to support students with a wide range of projects – from intricate architectural models, to custom furniture pieces, to full-scale fabrication. Brannan Shop Supervisor, Calvin Malone, and Shop Technician, Sage DuRivage, help students determine best ways to implement fabrication. Students find their knowledge of specific assignments in architecture courses especially helpful.

Digital fabrication equipment such as laser cutters, 3D printers, CNC routers are deeply embedded into our curriculum. Students learn to use these tools and apply them into their design process. Please see list below.

Safety

To ensure safety in the shop, students must complete a safety training, demonstrate their understanding by passing a quiz, and submit a usage agreement before they can operate shop machinery.
