Albert Yen is a Taiwanese American born architect and designer. He graduated from the Academy of Art University in 2015, where he earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree, exploring the diversity of architecture. After his graduation, he moved to London, to study at the Architectural Association in the DRL (Design Research Lab) Master of Architecture degree program. There, he focused on experimental architecture research, influenced by future construction methodology.
In 2017, Albert joined the Shanghai office of UNStudio (UNS), where he worked on landmark competitions, and commissioned projects all over the Asia-Pacific region, from residential, towers, cultural-, to mixed-used projects. After becoming Associate/ Senior Architect at UNS, he started leading the design for the Shanghai office projects and also acting as a Representative Design Ambassador for UNStudio Shanghai.
In addition to architecture, Albert is also passionate about furniture design and believes that there is an inseparable connection between architecture, interior and furniture. Since last year, he has been working with a Taiwanese sofa manufacturer to produce a collection of sofas, not only incorporating his futuristic aesthetics and Eastern and Western design languages, but also combining meticulous craftsmanship with elegant organic form making to enhance the life experience of its users.
