The unMUTED lecture series is centered around inclusive voices in architecture, with an opportunity to hear the narratives, struggles, and joy that are part of a designer’s journey. Students take an active role in organizing the event and moderating the panel.

Renamed unMUTED in Fall 2022, this event is a continuation of the Ethics and Leadership Panel which took place each Fall and Spring semester since Spring 2014, drawing leaders such as Chris Downey, Michael Pyatok, Rafael Sperry, Deanna Van Buren, Prescott Reavis, Emily Pilloton, Amanda Williams, and the late Bill Worthen. The themes of the panel discussions have included Public Space, Affordable Housing, Gender Equity, Homelessness in San Francisco, Race & Architecture, and Social Justice. The discussions bring to light how ethics and values can affect change.
