Computer-Specs

Undergraduate Computer Specifications

A computer meeting minimum specifications, listed below, is required. A webcam, microphone, mouse are also required in the first week of the semester in online classes. Chromebooks, tablets, mobile devices are NOT adequate for online classes and not substitutes for a computer. If purchasing a laptop, a second monitor is recommended (24” or larger size). Onsite students need to bring a laptop to their design studio classes.

If purchasing a new computer, please purchase a PC computer and not a Mac. The undergraduate architecture program requires software that needs a PC to run.

Minimum Computer Specifications for Undergraduate Students

  • PC Windows operating system

  • RAM: 16 GB minimum

When searching for a computer to purchase, we recommend using the term “Workstation” in your searches. This is a class of computer built to handle high software loads and long running time.
