B.Arch Student Jeff Luc Wins SCB Scholarship

Please congratulation B.Arch student Jeff Luc on winning the 2026 SCB Scholarship! As one of three winners nationwide, Jeff received a scholarship as well as a paid summer internship. Jeff is a 5th year B.Arch student and will be the new president of the student group AIAS.

This is a second year in a row that Academy of Art Architecture students have been recognized with the SCB Scholarship.

From SCB Foundation

The 2026 SCB Foundation Scholarship was awarded to three outstanding architecture students: Laiqa Gitosuputro (Harvard University), Aaron Spann (Howard University), and Jeffery Luc (Academy of Art University).

Established to support students pursuing careers in architecture, interior design, and urban planning, the scholarship provides financial assistance for their education while offering recipients the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through a paid summer internship at one of SCB’s offices.

Investing in the next generation is an important part of strengthening the future of our profession.

More about the 2026 SCB Foundation Awardees

Jeffery had an early appreciation for art, but it wasn’t until a high school 3D design class that he discovered his passion for problem solving. “For most of my life, I saw problems as roadblocks,” he says. “Now, I see architecture as an encounter with challenges where each project presents a new opportunity to take action.” Beyond innovative thinking, Jeffery is driven by uncovering the stories, needs, and perspectives that shape a place. “I’ve realized that the needs and stories of the local community are just as crucial to a project as the design itself.”
