LAN 193 Landscape Drawing and Drafting

 

Communicating ideas through accurate plans, sections, elevations and other drawings is a fundamental skill for any designer. Students will develop strong foundations in mechanical and freehand drawing by applying professional graphic conventions to a variety of projects. Connecting information on 2D drawings to 3D spaces will be developed.

Course Learning Outcomes

 

  • Draw simple to complex objects, spaces and ideas with clarity, effective line weight, line quality
  • Accurately construct and draft a full set of simple construction documents including plans, sections, elevations, axonometrics, one point perspectives and details employing appropriate graphic conventions
  • Select the appropriate scale for different types of drawings
  • Develop a coherent and well composed graphic presentation
  • Describe the relationship between the plan, section, elevation drawings, and the concept
  • Draw effective illustrative plans without color
