AIASF Board Student Members

AIASF Board Student Members

AIASF invites students to join the board to help create stronger ties between the profession and the academia. Student board members serve a one-year term January through December. Applications are due in early October. Here is the Application portal link

Application requirements:
– Responses to 4 questions
– Resume and bio
– Headshot

One student from each SF and Marin County architecture school will be selected. The role entails attending a meeting on the last Tuesday of each month. Students can join in person at 140 Sutter St or via Zoom.

It is a valuable opportunity to meet local architects in leadership roles – and to actively support AIASF’s goal to strengthen ties between academia and the profession. The 2025 board president is a partner at HOK. President-elect is a founding principal of YA Studio, a local architecture firm where coincidentally a BArch alum works. Past year’s president was Francesca Oliveira, partner at HOK, who was ARH faculty for a long time.

Real Talk

The Real Talk series is a platform for the student board members to support AIASF’s mission. Students determine the topic, prepare questions, and moderate the event. The 2025 AIASF student board members are:

– Andreea Muresan, MArch, Academy of Art University

– Salim Ahmed, MArch, CCA

– Luca Magalhaes, College of Marin

Topics are decided on by student board members. Here are links to Real Talk panels.
