Opening Reception: unSHELTERED

Tenderloin Museum & The Academy of Art University School of Architecture presents :

unSHELTERED

ARH 250 – Studio 4 Site Culture & Integral Urbanism

Join us for the opening of unSHELTERED, our latest show in the Tenderloin Museum Store. This exhibit critiques new prototypes for the homeless shelter in the Tenderloin neighborhood of San Francisco as a vital, connected part of the evolving San Francisco, and all its inhabitants. Students at the Academy of Art University school of Architecture, through site investigation and a scrutiny of typology, formulated a critical design stance toward the architectural problem of how integrate the homeless shelter into the fabric of the new incarnation of SF, making it stigma free and relevant.  The exhibition showcases multiple scales, guerilla methods, and collective space, revealing alternate models for a public infrastructure in San Francisco.

Don’t miss the opening reception Friday May 13th, 6:30-9:30 pm, Academy of Art University undergraduate architecture students and advising professors Doron Serban and Sameena Sitabkhan will be in attendance. The show will run from May 13th-June 1st.

Please RSVP at the Tenderloin Museum website at http://tenderloinmuseum.org/events/?event_id1=41
