LAN 810 Thesis Development
In this course, students will continue to research and develop detailed site analyses, articulate concepts, and produce refined design interpretations of the evolving concepts for their final thesis project. Students will document their process in a weekly Directed Study Process Journal, verbal presentations, and final presentation.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Research and apply critical historical, cultural, and ecological site information to the development of relevant site analyses
- Identify and apply key data from analysis in the formation of design concepts and directions
- Explore multiple options related to the concept presented at midpoint
- Create refined concept decisions for the project as a whole and for specific areas of focus
- Create a refined preliminary master plan and site design(s) as appropriate
- Demonstrate understanding and integration of relevant design principles and ecological systems in preliminary design decisions
- Articulate the site analyses and project concept in graphic, verbal and written form
