Frank Flury
Frank Flury, Professor of Architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, will be giving a lecture this Wednesday October 25 at 6pm at the atrium in 601 Brannan. Professor Flury will be kicking off the Fall Charrette starting at 2pm, meeting with students and faculty before his lecture.
Professor Flury has taught for 12 years at IIT, teaching a Design/Build curriculum to undergraduate and graduate students. He is trained as an architect and master carpenter in Germany, and focuses on the connection between thinking and doing in his design studios. He has also taught at the Rural Studio at Auburn University in Alabama, designing and constructing a house for a low income family. He has created a number of award winning design build build projects with his students, including the Field Chapel in Sekach, Germany, an exhibition center on the grounds of the Farnsworth House in Plano, Illinois, and a library and dormitory in Twifo Hemang, Ghana.
