Letter From the President to the Parents

Letter From the President to the Parents

Dear Parents,

I wanted to personally reach out to you and provide an update on how the Academy of Art University is addressing the challenges of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Amidst the current COVID19 challenge, the Academy of Art University has been able to smoothly transition our Spring semester to online teaching. Our students are adapting well to the transition and are able to complete their coursework remotely.

  1. We plan to continue instructing online during Summer session, which starts on June 22, 2020. We also offer Summer Intersession, which is 3 weeks long and starts on June 1, 2020 for students who want to speed up their graduation date. We will resume onsite classes as soon we are allowed by government officials. However, the University’s dorms and dining services will continue to remain open while classes are online. The residence halls are fully operational to support our students’ success and the Academy of Art University is taking measures to provide a safe and clean environment for our students. We are 100% dedicated towards the goals of addressing the needs of our students and helping them achieve their degrees virtually/online.
Academy of Art University has been one of the top online educational institutions in the world for over 20 years. Students from over 100 countries have been able to achieve fully accredited degrees from abroad, without any requirement to step on campus or access lab materials. Our Student Fashion Show will be in a new exciting digital media and will be available for online viewing in May. Our Spring Show will launch online on May 21, 2020.
  2. As we deal with this challenge, Academy of Art University Career Services Department remains laser-focused on the success of our students. While all schools are in uncharted territory, the Academy was built to handle moments like these, and our relentless commitment to you and our students is stronger than ever. We want to ensure our students have every resource needed to succeed. Academy of Art University is proud to announce that we have doubled the size of our Career Services Department. It is our goal to increase our industry outreach by an additional 50%. As the industry reinvents itself day by day, these key members are working day and night with current employers nationwide to help our students.

From the decision to become a pioneer in online education twenty years ago, to the commitment to transition our learning environment to Zoom and the Learning Management System (LMS) for our onsite classes, all of us at Academy of Art University are in this together.

Thank you for your continued support. I wish you and your families the best of health.

Sincerely,

Dr. Elisa Stephens, President
Academy of Art University
