Joseph King
Undergraduate Faculty
Joseph King, AIA, LEED AP, has been practicing architecture for over 15 years with an emphasis on urban multi-family and residential design. A registered architect in both California and Illinois, Joe returns to the Bay Area after having spent several years practicing in Chicago. His work includes projects as diverse as high-rise residential and urban infill commercial to single family homes and campus master plans. He was recently awarded the AIA San Francisco and PG+E Merit Award first prize in the 2013 Architecture At Zero design competition, and his work has also been featured in numerous publications and exhibits, including the 2012 Annual Design Review of the National Academy Museum, New York.
Joe received a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley and an M.Arch from the University of Michigan. His previous experience includes work with local practices ELS and Studios Architecture, as well as HOK in St. Louis. He has been a guest reviewer for graduate and undergraduate studios at UC Berkeley, Northwestern University and the Illinois Institute of Technology. He is currently a design principal with the firm Booth Hansen and heads its San Francisco office.
