José Ramón Sierra y Gómez de León

Jose Ramon Sierra is Spain-based architect licensed in Spain, the U.K. and Romania. He holds a Master of Architecture with Distinction upon Graduation from Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor and Master of Architecture from the Technical School of Madrid (ETSAM). He is a founding partner at the architecture office PRÁCTICA, and a graduate-level Studio instructor at Academy of Art University School of Architecture in San Francisco, CA.
Jose Ramon Sierra has previously worked at some diverse international offices such as David Chipperfield Architects and Sergison Bates Architects in London, Rafael Moneo in Madrid and Tod Williams Billie Tsien in New York. He also held a Teaching Assistant position at Harvard University GSD, and he has lectured at various institutions including Harvard GSD, University of Seville, ESNE in Madrid or the International University of Andalusia (UNIA). José Ramón has directed several academic workshops at UNIA and University of Seville.
Jose Ramon Sierra’s work has been publicly displayed in several exhibitions at Harvard University, the 14th Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism, the 20th Architecture and Urbanism Biennial of Chile and at University of Seville. It has also been published on Arquitectura magazine, as well as on various publications by Harvard University and the architecture biennials of Spain and Chile. He was awarded with a Harvard University GSD Grant and a Real Colegio Complutense Scholarship for two consecutive years, and his work won the 2019 Romanian Building Award.
