Scholarship Opportunities From AIA Silicon Valley
The future of the architectural profession resides with the next generation of architects. The AIA Silicon Valley Scholarship program has four scholarships available for students whom reside in Santa Clara Valley and are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program leading to a career in architecture.

The scholarship committee, board of directors, and members at large feel a student’s decision to study architecture should be determined by talent and perseverance and not limited by financial status.
The three scholarships are

How to apply
Applicants can attach digital files that should not exceed 24MB.
Please follow the directions as they are written below and incomplete applications will not be considered.
Portfolio of work. Graphic materials that demonstrate the applicant’s design abilities. The submittal shall represent the independent work of the applicant. Portfolios become the property of AIA Silicon Valley and contents may be used to promote the AIA Silicon Valley’s scholarship program. Please provide PowerPoint slides that demonstrate the evolution of your design studies. TIP: Your portfolio should represent the design evolution of your studies. Include sketching, paintings, drawings, sculptures, school work.
Written statement of personal goals as pertaining to your interest in architecture. Not to exceed one page. The written statement needs to be submitted with the portfolio in PDF format.
Two letters of recommendation from teachers and/or practicing professional architects. The letters need to be on letterhead, signed, and specific to this application. Emailing a PDF copy of the letters are acceptable.

Deadline for submittal to the AIA Silicon Valley office is 4:00 pm, April 4, 2018
Any and all required electronic documents and images are also due by 4:00pm, Wednesday, April 4, 2018.

SELECTION PROCESS:
Selection of Finalist shall be based on the merits of submitted portfolio and materials.
Finalist must be available for a scheduled, live 30 minute interview, on April 26th. Final awards shall be made after interviews with the Finalist. Award winners will be notified by May 4, 2018.
The Scholarship Award Celebration will be in May 2018. It is our goal to have all the scholarship recipients available to attend this event. The date & location have not been finalized, but it will be held in the vicinity of Santa Clara County.
