Pete Gang was a founding board member of the Redwood Empire Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council in 2001. He now serves as a member of the Chapter’s Advisory Council. In 2003, his involvement in the Chapter’s education activities led to co-founding the year-long Green Building Professional Certificate Program at Sonoma State University’s School of Extended Education where he taught for five years (2004-2008).
His firm, Common Sense Design, specializes in “spirited green architecture.” Since 1989, Common Sense Design has designed and consulted on hundreds of residential and commercial projects, exploring a wide range of natural and alternative building systems, energy-efficiency strategies, and other integrated green building approaches.
The goal of meaningful long-term sustainability now guides most of his work.
