The 13th Architecture Biennale in Venice, Italy this year was curated by the British architect David Chipperfield. The Architecture Biennale shows multiple national exhibits from all over the world and a series of thematic contributions exhibited in different venues throughout the city of Venice. David Chipperfield was interested in resisting the typical image of architecture revealing that it is “internally connected, intellectually and practically, sharing common concerns, influences and intentions.” This talk will look at examples of the exhibits and discuss topics involved, trying to trace current themes in architectural discourse and practice.
