GL Planning & Design has immediate need to fill the following positions.

I. Junior Architectural Designer (REVIT®) · San Francisco, California

Experience: 3+ years’ experience

Description: GL Planning & Design, Inc. is a San Francisco-based architecture firm that specializes in the research and design of corporate, university, healthcare and research facilities. GLP Sherman Oaks office offers an exciting career opportunity in a dynamic, team-focused work environment for an experienced Junior Architectural Designer with a minimum of 3 years’ experience working on technically oriented commercial architectural projects. Candidates should be dedicated, able to work in a team environment as an integral part of project teams and be able to actively collaborate with design leadership.

Qualifications:

Applicants must have a professional degree in Architecture and have experience working on technical building projects. Applicants must also have strong REVIT® and AutoCAD skills in architectural design and documentation as well as be functional in MS Word and MS Excel.

Laboratory/facility project experience, renovations to existing facilities project experience, engineering coordination experience, computer graphics program experience are all strong pluses.

III. Interior Designer/Assistant Project Manager San Francisco, California

Experience: 5-10 years’ experience

Description:  GL Planning & Design, Inc. (GLP) is an architectural firm that specializes in the design of corporate, university and healthcare laboratory facilities, with offices in San Francisco and Sherman Oaks, California. GLP’s San Francisco office has an exciting career opportunity in a dynamic, team-focused work environment for an Interior Designer/ Assistant Project Manager with 5-10 years’ experience working on technically oriented commercial architectural projects. We are looking for a focused problem solver with well-rounded experience in all aspects of project design and documentation with an emphasis in interior design.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Oversees selection of interior finishes, furnishings, artwork and interior signage
  • Responsible for space and furniture planning
  • Participates in presentations and communicates design concepts using appropriate software
  • Oversees assembly of material finish boards for presentations
  • Produces construction documents and specifications
  • Coordinates internally with project Architect and externally with outside project consultants
  • Meets with clients and attends planning and construction meetings as needed
  • Meets with suppliers and vendors
  • Oversees the organization of the Design Library as needed
  • Reviews shop drawings and submittals for approval
  • Occasional travel required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Either a degree in Architecture or a degree in Interior Design from a CIDA accredited university
  • 5-10 years relevant project experience in interior design
  • Versed in current laboratory and/ or healthcare trends and design concepts a plus.
  • CA Architecture License, CA CID Certification, LEED accreditation, computer graphics program experience will be favorably reviewed
  • Organized, efficient and able to work well and lead others. On small projects, may be required to work independently.
  • Exhibits strong professional, inter-personal skills and a positive attitude; excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in standard industry software : AutoCAD; REVIT; MS Word, MS Excel
  • Legally able to work in the U.S.
