Diversified Spaces: A POPOS Walking Tour in SOMA

Join AIASF COTE for a walking tour & conversation with SF planners, architects, & landscape architects to discuss the history, design, & lasting impact of a selection of POPOS (Privately Owned Public Open Spaces) in SOMA. Stops include 525 Market Street, 555 Mission Street, & 101 & 222 Second Street. Tour speakers will include Joshua Switzsky (Acting Director of the Citywide Planning Division of the San Francisco Planning Department), Steven Sobel (Design Director at SOM & Architect of 101 Second Street) & Alan Lewis (Design Director & Open Space Practice Leader within SOM’s City Design Practice. This tour is part of the annual Architecture + City Festival in SF, & is co-hosted by ASLA-Norther California Chapter.
Nourishing our Net Zero Future with Induction Cooking

Interested in learning more about cooking without natural gas? AIASF COTE is hosting an induction cooking technology mashup that will include live cooking demonstrations, a short film screening about the culinary, environmental and safety upsides of going all-electric in your kitchen, and a round-table discussion with chefs, architects and building scientists talking about the ins and outs of induction cooking. Attendees can get to the event at Riggs Showroom in Burlingame via a private bus from/to the AIASF, via BART, or by car. See listing for more info.
