PRO499: Special Topics in Glass Geometries
Glass Geometries is a new course using 3D software (Rhino, Grasshopper, Weaverbird, 3DS Max) and rapid prototyping to develop and produced fused, slumped, and cast glass pieces. In this class, you’ll develop advanced skills in form-finding, rendering and fabrication. You’ll learn about the aesthetics and material properties of molded glass art, and how to develop an algorithmic model into a physical sculpture. Unique to this class, you will have the chance to cast your own pieces in glass using multiple techniques. The class is open to all majors who have fulfilled course pre-requisites. If you have any questions, please contact your advisor or doron serban (B.Arch Emerging Technology Coordinator) at dserban@academyart.edu.
